David L. Richter
Chairman and CEO
David L. Richter has been the Chairman and CEO of Richter Capital LLC, an asset management firm headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey, since he founded the company in 2017.
Prior to his current position, David spent 22 years at Hill International, Inc. (NYSE:HIL), a global professional services firm providing project management and construction claims services to the buildings, transportation, environmental, energy and industrial markets worldwide. At Hill, David served as CEO from 2014 to 2017, President and COO from 2004 to 2014, President of Hill's Project Management Group from 2001 to 2004, Senior Vice President and General Counsel from 1999 to 2001 and Vice President and General Counsel from 1995 to 1999. During his time with the company, Hill grew from less than 300 employees to more than 4,300. Before joining Hill, David was an attorney with the New York City law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP from 1992 to 1995.
David is a Fellow of both the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). He is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). David is a member of the Board of Trustees of Princeton Day School, a former member of the Boards of Directors of the CMAA and the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia and a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Southern New Jersey Development Council. He was also Chairman of the Oxford Alumni Society of Philadelphia.
David has been named to "40 Under 40" lists of outstanding young professionals by Business News New Jersey magazine (2002), the Philadelphia Business Journal (2005) and Building Design + Construction magazine (2006). From 2003 to 2004, he served as a David Rockefeller Fellow, an honor bestowed by the Partnership for New York City in order to enable the next generation of private sector leaders to deepen their understanding of the public needs of New York City and to take an active role in shaping its future. In 2007, David received the Global Excellence Award from the Society of Indo-American Engineers and Architects of New York. In 2014, he was named by SNJ Business People magazine as one of South Jersey's Executives of the Year. David received the Excellence in Management Award from ASCE's New Jersey Section in 2017 and he received ASCE's Construction Management Award in 2018.
David earned his B.S. in management, his B.S.E. in civil engineering and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and his M.Sc. in major program management from the University of Oxford.
He has been admitted to the bars of New York, New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. Supreme Court. He has also been named a Chartered Construction Manager by the CIOB.
